My wedding season ended on a high with Jessica and Jonathan’s New Year’s Eve celebration at the Portland Company Complex. The large industrial space was magically transformed into an elegant, romantic venue by Meghan Torrieri of B Merry Events. An array of Japanese lanterns, string lights, and candles provided soft ambient light. The faded green and blue brick of the building was contrasted nicely with clean, modern arrangements on the tables featuring floral arrangements by Emily Carter Floral Design.
Jess and Jon exchanged their vows in a short but sweet ceremony, surrounded by close friends and family. Following the nuptials, it was time for a cocktail hour, where a variety of Maine beers were poured by Mainely Bartenders . Jon is actually quite the beer connoisseur and has brewed many different varieties – rather than the traditional parting gift, guests received a bottle of craft-brewed beer courtesy of Jonathan and Jessica. For dinner, guests dined on a delicious spread provided by Black Tie Catering. The couple danced to one of my favorite songs – This must be the place by The Talking Heads.. I love it when my clients choose creatively and think outside of the box! Several emotional speeches were a perfect segue into a fun filled night of dancing with Downtown Fever, who kept the dance floor hot with covers by Stevie Wonder, James Brown, and Earth Wind and Fire to name a few.
What a perfect way to end 2011 and ring in 2012! Congrats Jessica and Jonathan – wishing you all the best in your future together!
